World Golfers Championship (WGC) begins as a National Championship divided into five handicap flights.

The winner from each flight becomes part of the FIVE-person national team, as well defends their flight individually in the world final.

If a winner can't participate, the runner-up should take his/her place to ensure a complete national team!

Qualifiers vary between countries but the general WGC concept begins at club level and works its way up through regional finals to national finals, then at last to the world final!

Handicap Flights

All players enter the world final into the handicap flight according to the flight they qualified into, not necessarily the flight their new handicap would dictate.

Examples:

• Players entering the final with lower handicap than the flight will play on their handicap.
• Players entering with higher handicap than the flight will enter the final with the flight maximum handicap.
• Examples: Player in flight 6-10 enters final with hcp 4.
  He plays flight 6-10 with hcp 4.
• Player in flight 6-10 enters final with hcp 11.
  He plays flight 6-10, but with hcp 10 (the flight maximum.)
