National is the home of the PGA of America and has been
host site of many national, as well as international tournaments
including the PGA Seniors’ Championship, Ryder Cup,
and PGA Championship.

Champion
The most renowned of all the courses at PGA National,
The Champion was the site of the PGA Seniors' Championship
from 1982-2000, Ryder Cup and PGA Championship. The
course now ranks in the top 10% of most difficult
courses in America and boasts 3 of the 10 hardest
holes on the senior tour, also known as the infamous
"Bear Trap".

The
General
The last of the four courses built in the PGA National
development, The General is named in honor of the
only professional golfer ever to enlist an "army"
of supporters, Arnold Palmer.

Haig
The first course opened for play at PGA National,
The Haig was named in honor of Watler Hagen, who became
an international legend through his many on-course
exploits, including five PGA Championships.

Volvo China Tour
Volvo Motor Cars
celebrated its lengthy association with professional golf
by introducing its long-awaited Volvo China Tour. The Volvo
China Tour was an unprecedented opportunity for World Sponsors
Forum delegates to obtain "How To" knowledge for
investing in the China marketplace using golf as its entree.

Ambassador Boris
Pankin, Minister of the USSR and Deputy-Editor in Chief
of USSR's daily "Komsomolskaya Pravda" has authored
a book called The Last 100 Days. This book gives commentary
on the USSR after the 1991 August putsch which ultimately
ushered in democratic philosophies now being used as its
foundation for growth.
Ambassador Pankin,
together with Mr. Sven Tumba, introduced golf in the former
Soviet Union. It shows that golf is a tremendous vehicle
to open doors for business even in Russia today.
Views on Russia
and the opportunities for foreign investment and investment
security was presented in open "Round Table" discussion
format by Ambassador Boris Pankin.
